Client is a 555-bed, not-for-profit acute care facility, offering services in cardiovascular care, spine treatment, women’s health, major surgery, cancer, emergency care, kidney transplant and others. The hospital is a Magnet Hospital and has been consistently recognized as the region's  Most Preferred Hospital for over 15 years.

This Acute Care Nurse Practitioner will work with our nationally recognized cardiovascular care team. They are rquipped with cutting edge of cardiovascular care and involves patients in clinical research.
Schedule: Full Time Shift: Nights Hours: 7pm-7am

Job Description

The NP will be responsible for the assessment of patient health status, diagnostic testing, diagnoses, development of treatment plans, implementation of treatment plans, follow-up and evaluation of the patient’s response to treatment, accurate documentation of the patient’s status, and patient advocacy.

The NP will further utilize the nursing process and demonstrate an extensive knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, and critical care medicine, and have skills in exercising judgment and/or initiating medical processes and procedures.

Will work under the direction of a clinical manager or nursing director and under the supervision of a collaborating physician(s) for designed clinical outcomes by assisting in admitting patients, evaluating consultations, performing history and physicals, triaging and intervening in acute clinical crisis (under the physician’s direction), transferring and discharging patients, supporting the clinical needs and decisions of the health care team, and to provide family-centered care by meeting the needs of the patient and family with education, and psychosocial support.

NP will share responsibility for management of the caseload with the physician.


 Graduate level nursing education

5 Years minimum experience as a registered nurse with critical care, cardiology, or cardiovascular experience preferred. One year experience as a CCNP in a critical care environment preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • The NP holds a current licensure to practice in her/his state of employment
  • Certificate to Prescribe
  • Membership in professional organizations is desirable.
  • ACLS and BLS

Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of all organizations with which he/she will be practicing, and the Ohio State Board of Nursing
